After 15 years of festivals celebrating the most renowned guitarists and bass players in the world, we are ready to crown our own champion of the year!

 

We will be hosting a competition in two categories, one for guitarists and one for bass players. The competition is open for admission from 1st of November 2023 to 1st of December 2023.

 

There will be a jury of professional guitarists and bass players selecting a group of 15 semi-finalists of each category. The video of each semi-finalist will be released on LGF’s YouTube channel and website where the public will be able to vote for the candidates they think deserve a spot in the final. 

The top three most voted semi-finalists on 16th of February 2024, will be invited to play at the festival stage on Saturday 16th of March 2024 in front of a live audience and a live jury. In the final you will be asked to play a full song, either with backing track or solo, and it doesn’t necessarily have to be the same song that you admitted entering the competition.

Admission:

Send the video by email to gitarfestivalen@gmail.com with a download link (WeTransfer, Dropbox, Google Drive, etc..). Please state your name, age and where you are from in the email.

Criteria:

-   The candidate cannot be younger than turning 16 years old in 2023.

-   No longer than a 1 minute vertical video of you performing.

-   It’s important that we see you play, otherwise you will be disqualified.

-   The jury will consider both musicality and technique in this competition.

-   Both acoustic and electric instruments are allowed.

-   High quality video and audio is not a requirement, but it is recommended.

 

Deadlines:

-   Admission/registration open from 1st of November 2023.

-   Admission/registration ends 1st of December 2023.

-   Semi-finalists will be chosen and published by 16th of January 2024.

-   Voting ends on 16th of February 2024.

-   Finalists show on 16th of March 2024 at the festival live stage.
