Larvik International Guitar and Bass Festival

 

Founded in 2009, Larvik Guitar Festival has grown to become one of the largest guitar festivals in Scandinavia, which makes this an important annual event for all guitarists and bassists in Europe. The festival has grown over the years and are now a two-day event with concerts, workshops, clinics, gear expo and more. We include all genres of music, connected by our love for guitar and bass. Rock, Blues, Metal, Jazz, Classical and Fingerstyle is represented every year.

 

Throughout the span of the festival, we have been visited by some of the worlds finest players. Steve Vai, Al DiMeola, Robben Ford, The Aristocrats, Paul Gilbert, Marty Friedman, Jennifer Batten, Scott Henderson, The Yardbirds, Terje Rypdal, Mike Dawes and many more.

 

GETTING THERE:

Located in the charming city of Larvik, it's location is well connected through nearby airports, train station, ports and highways. You can easily get too Larvik from wherever you may live. Torp Airport (TRF) is only a 20 min drive from Larvik, and Oslo Gardemoen (OSL) is easily reached too/from Larvik.

 

Train line connects Larvik to all nearby cities. The ports in Larvik and Sandefjord connects directly to Sweden and Denmark by ferry.

VENUE:

The venue that hosts the festival each year is Bølgen Kulturhus, a beautiful venue overlooking the sea and horizon. Bølgen Kulturhus has three stages, an art gallery, cinemas and its own restaurant and bar. Between the hotels and Bølgen you have everything you need within walking distance. A weekend at the Larvik Guitar Festival will give you memories for life.
